Here are all the command line options for hotfix.exe, from the SMS installer help file.

NOTE: Placing a directory name after /x option extracts all files to the selected directory.

The Installer-generated executable files include the following command-line options that you can use to test the installation script and to install software manually:

/t

Tests the installation script without making changes to the system. No files are copied, and changes are not made to the .ini file or Program Manager. This mode is useful when you test the final Installer-generated executable file before it is distributed.

/x, /z

Lists the files contained in the Installer-generated executable file. You can select some of these files and extract them from the installation. This is useful if the files have been deleted or corrupted on the target computer. Also, this option can be used by bulletin board system (BBS) operators to look for virus files without installing the files. Placing a directory name after /x option extracts all files to the selected directory.
The /z option performs the same function as the /x option except that the computer exits Windows after the files are extracted.

/m=values_file

Reads values_file. A values file overwrites installation script variable vales. For example, entries in this file could include the following:

Apptitle=My Application Title
Maindir=%SYS%\Default Directory Name

Lines that do not begin with a letter are ignored. Therefore, you can use a standard .ini file as a values file.
However, not all variables can be overwritten with a values file. Only those for which Read variable from values file is checked in the Set Variable script item dialog box can be overwritten.

/s

Runs the installation in silent mode. The background gradient is not displayed, and the progress bar is not shown. Other than RESTART, messages or prompts that the installation uses are not displayed. The default values of all variables are used during the installation. This option is useful for background installations in networked environments.
